Attorney & Founding Member
Kyle earned his bachelor's degree from DePauw University in 2004 and obtained his Juris Doctor in 2008 at the Western Michigan University Cooley Law School. He has been licensed to practice law in Indiana since 2009. Kyle brings more than a decade's worth of legal experience to those he advises. In October of 2021, he founded Allen Legal, LLC, to help people plan, preserve, and protect what's most important to them - their family and their estates.
Early in Kyle's legal career, a family member had a long-term care issue which highlighted the importance of becoming skilled in the practice of elder law. Since 2014, Kyle has practiced solely in the areas of estate planning, elder law, and business planning—advising hundreds of families from all walks-of-life with each bringing their own planning objectives. After all, when it comes to planning one-size does not fit all so Kyle prefers taking a holistic approach when offering legal advice.
Kyle prides himself on bringing a knowledgeable, friendly approach to the practice of law, and works to educate his clients of their legal options so they can make confident, informed decisions. Unlike some attorneys, Kyle listens first so that he can learn and appreciate what's important to you. He understands that: 1) most people don't want to discuss their death; and 2) spending time with an attorney isn't at the top of most people's priority list—so Kyle's goal is to make the experience as pleasant as possible, and he'll often use humor to lighten the mood! Although professional, he doesn't take himself too seriously. Above all else, he values the relationships he builds with the people he works with and enjoys helping them attain that “peace-of-mind” when his work is complete. He loves helping people and he loves his family.
Kyle and his wife, Michelle, were married in 2013 at her family farm in Knightstown. They welcomed their daughter, Clarke, to the family in 2018. In the spring of 2020 they made Knightstown their permanent home. As a family, they enjoy being outdoors—whether it's camping, hiking, visiting his parents on their little houseboat, or simply getting their hands dirty on the farm—they find the fresh air rejuvenating and inspirational for planning their next adventure. During the month of May Kyle spends as much time as he can at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway with his father (usually to his mother's delight!). Race day is his favorite day of the year, and attending the Indy 500 is a family tradition (thankfully one that Michelle has embraced, and Clarke soon will!). In both his personal and professional life Kyle always has to be learning something new—and here are some interesting facts you can learn about Kyle:
